MailTrackAPI — a self-built email delivery and tracking API
A Symfony REST API for sending emails via saved templates or dynamic HTML, with JWT authentication and a full history of every send. In production: this very portfolio uses it for its contact form, and it already has other clients of my own beyond this site.
Context
I needed my own reusable way to send transactional emails from my different projects, without depending on a third-party service or repeating that logic in each one — with authentication, templates, and traceability of what gets sent.
Role
Sole author — full design and development of the API.
Problem
Every new project needs to send emails (notifications, forms, alerts), which usually means integrating a separate external provider each time, with no centralized control and no history of what was sent, to whom, or with what result.
Solution
A Symfony REST API with JWT authentication (Lexik): each client registers its own account and can send emails via a saved template or raw HTML with Mustache variables. Every send is logged with its status, queryable afterwards through the API (filtered listing or by id) — so any project using it gets full traceability of its own sends, not just "sent and forgotten".
Result
In production: this portfolio's contact form uses it as its sending backend (via a server-side proxy so credentials never reach the browser), and it already has other clients of my own using it beyond this site.
